activities at the booth
Kendo, literally the “Way of the Sword”, is a form of two-handed sabre fencing practised in real assaults using specially adapted equipment consisting of protective armour and a bamboo sabre. Much more than a combat discipline, it's a traditional martial art intimately linked to Japanese culture, requiring personal involvement, self-improvement and a sense of exchange in order to progress both technically and mentally.
Throughout the festival, initiations and demonstrations will be led by top-level, state-certified technical instructors, ensuring that the very best of their art is on display. You can discover the different sword techniques through technical exercises and free sparring.
There will also be a permanent exhibition of sabre-related equipment (training weapons and armour) on their stand. You can meet them to discover all the facets of this ancestral and traditional martial art, and they'll be delighted to welcome you with lots of information!
