Donkey Monkey, French-Japanese duet
Yuko, coming from the vibrant Japanese rock scene, and Eve, a pianist who goes deep down European contemporary music, met in Alsace and gave birth to a new creature: the Donkey Monkey.
This eight tentacles and two voices animal has been speaking through the powerful compositions and frenetic improvisations of the two musicians for six years now.
Donkey Monkey got a price of the third best band in the International Contest of La Défense 2008 and took part in the French Jazz Quarter of the Jazz Festival of Tokyo organised by Culture France.
After their first album in 2007 and a few beautiful festivals and European tours, Yuko and Eve are working on their second album, to be released by the end of 2010, and a series of new concerts and a world tour.
